What is at the sale?
The sale features a wide variety of annuals, perennials, bulbs, vegetables, and more. Native plants are a regular favorite at the sale, as is a selection of hosta and shade garden plants. This year also will feature plants from the MN Seed Trials, producing plants that are particularly favorable to conditions in our MN gardens. Also for sale will be excellent quality gardening gloves for only $5 a pair -- a great deal and the perfect gift for any gardener.
Where do the plants come from?
A significant number of the plants at the sale come from the gardens of Master Gardeners! In addition, others are plants grown by Master Gardeners from seeds that performed well in the MN Seed Trials.
How are proceeds used?
Proceeds from the plant sale support scholarships at the University of Minnesota, specifically scholarships for students or research that impact our Minnesota environment for growing healthy gardens and landscapes. Note that Master Gardening programs are part of the University of MN Extension Service.
