All Extension volunteers – including Master Gardener volunteers – are required to update their background check and Safety of Minors certification every 3 years. If you don’t renew, your volunteer account is suspended and you won’t be able to log in to enter hours or access your volunteer account.
These can be submitted online, though paper options are available. See the Related Reading links below.
Expect an email from the Extension Master Gardener State Office this year if you joined RCMG in any of the following years: 2022, 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007, 2004, 2001, 1998, 1995, 1992 or 1989.
The email subject line is: “Master Gardener Program request: background check renewal”
The email sender is: Extension Master Gardener State Office (mgbgck@umn.edu)
