Background Check Renewals 2023

All Extension volunteers – including Master Gardeners – are required to update their background check and Safety of Minors training every 3 years. If you don’t renew, your volunteer account is suspended and you won’t be able to log in to enter hours or access your volunteer account.
These can be submitted online, though paper options are available. See the Related reading links below.
Expect an email from the Extension Master Gardener State Office this year if you joined RCMG in any of the following years: 2020, 2017, 2014, 2011, 2008, 2005, 2002, 1999, 1996, 1993, 1990 or 1987.
The email subject line is: “Master Gardener Program request: background check renewal”
The email sender is: Extension Master Gardener State Office (mgbgck@umn.edu)
