Dear Ramsey Garden Education Volunteer,
I'm excited and looking forward to serving in the role of interim coordinator for the Ramsey County Garden Education Volunteer Program. Below is an introduction to me and some of my background, followed by ways to connect with me and work together.

1. About Jamie
I am originally from Wisconsin (I was born in Green Bay and apologize to the Vikings fans, but my support of the Packers is a hereditary obligation!), and have been a MInnesotan by choice since my undergrad years at the U of M. Professionally I am a “recovering” middle school teacher (Social Studies), who moved into nonprofit management, originally working with urban youth development programs, homelessness support and immigrant and refugee services. For a decade, I worked in development and fundraising at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, before taking some time away to start a family.
I have worked for U of M Extension for the past 8 years; my role on the State Leadership team has changed over time and continues to grow. Originally, I was part of the team that launched the online Core Course and work on the annual updates. I facilitated the production of the 2022-27 Strategic Plan for the program. I have served as the interim coordinator in Anoka, Blue Earth, Dakota Le Sueur, Hennepin and Washington Counties. In addition, I am part of the team converting our existing database to a new system, I work with county programs on strategic planning and development, coordinate the Master Gardener activities at the MN State Fair, and provide general program support. I am grateful and energized that I get the opportunity to work with such enthusiastic and dedicated groups of volunteers and staff, as we work to achieve Extension’s mission!
My hobbies include ensuring my two bright, energetic children get muddy, sticky, and covered with glorious nature frequently. For fun, my kids and I love the water and enjoy paddleboarding and kayaking, community theater, traveling, reading, highly competitive board game competitions and mini-golf adventures.

3. Ramsey County Garden Education Volunteers - Transition Support Tracking Document
This link will serve as the first point of contact for Ramsey Co. Garden Education Volunteers to request purchases, facilitate contracts, set up room rentals, coordinate meetings and any other items needed to support the program and its volunteers!
