Because there is not a monthly educational meeting in May, the Education Committee suggests a number of webinars in lieu of a speaker. The list below provides a good cross section and are all excellent resources for increasing your gardener knowledge.
The amount of time that can be recorded as education credit will vary based on the length of each webinar. Watch one or all of them.
Fall 2023 Train-the-Trainer workshop, Julie Vanatta teaches RGEV volunteers how to identify earthworms, including jumping worms, and how to clean plant roots to minimize the risk of spreading worm cocoons when sharing plants.
Intergenerational Care for Land and Community: A Conversation with Robin Wall Kimmerer and Esther Bonney, from Wild Ones. Author and botanist, Robin Wall Kimmerer, and youth organizer, Esther Bonney, discuss how people of different ages find their place in the native plant movement. Community, belonging, and care for the land grows when stories and skills are shared across generations.
Turn That Patch Into a Plan, from Wild Ones. Zoe and Heather Evans show you how to reimagine your entire yard as a place that truly works for both people and wildlife. You’ll discover practical design strategies that make outdoor spaces more restorative for humans while supporting pollinators, birds and other wildlife.Â
Pollinator Webinar Resources 2026, University of Minnesota Extension. While the webinar was held in January, there are links to the recorded presentations, as well as many additional resources.Â
What is Wild and Why it Matters. This presentation explores how welcoming authentic wildness into your home landscape can create resilient, beautiful spaces that support pollinators, wildlife, and local ecosystems. This webinar was presented in collaboration between Wild Ones and Homegrown National Park. Only available until May 28.
