Thank you from Gardens for Good

We had a STELLAR year at Gardens for Good, all thanks to the generous donations and hours from RCMG volunteers. For our final 2025 market, RCMG donated 307 pounds of produce and everything was eagerly picked by our shoppers at Wilson House. The decorative pumpkins were a big hit as were the sliced large squash and the sliced large watermelons.

Some fun stats for the season as a whole- this year: RCMG donated 2,620 pounds of produce, jam, and flowers at both Wilson and Central High Rise. This is a 50% increase over 2024! We got so many thank you hugs at our final market for the season – and these hugs need to go out to this collective team.

Thank you to everyone for-

  • Signing up for collection and distribution shifts - we were never short staffed for this program

  • Labeling your produce so that we could easily tell what things were - especially important for hot and mild peppers

  • Taking the time to divide large items into smaller portions so that we could serve more people and for single person households, items did not go to waste

We are hopeful that we can continue with this momentum and plan for a full season with both Wilson and Central High Rise markets. Next year's market will start after July 4th. A SUG will go out around April or May (2026) to sign up to donate veggies, fruit and flowers - which puts you on this weekly email update.

A big thanks from the planning team and from all the Wilson and Central High Rise community members!

Happy Fall, and until next Spring–
