Mark Your Calendars now – 2026 Plant Sale!

The 2026 Ramsey County Master Gardener Plant Sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th, from 9 am to 2 pm at Aldrich Ice Arena, 1850 White Bear Ave, Maplewood.  Volunteers are needed on sale day May 16th, and Thursday and Friday, May 14th and 15th for set up.  

What Does the Plant Sale Do?

The Plant Sale is the primary RCMG fundraiser, ensuring that our programs have the resources to be healthy and sustainable.   

The goals of the plant sale are to: 

• Raise funds 

• Inspire people to garden 

• Build community among RCMG members 

• Provide a broader range of plants to the community 

• Provide educational opportunities for members and residents 

• Provide accessible volunteer hours to our members 

• Build connections with the broader community and increase the visibility of the Master Gardener Program 

How Can I Get Involved?

Grow from Home

The Plant Sale Team needs volunteers to grow plants from seed and divide houseplants.  Watch for a Sign Up Genius (SUG) request:

• Houseplant Divisions – can start now so divisions get larger for the May sale 

• Natives – start from seed in early January 

• Vegetables, Annuals and Tomatoes – start from seed in Feb or March, depending on the plant 

RCMG will provide seeds for some natives, vegetables and tomatoes.  You are also welcome to buy your own seeds.  

Research to Create Signage

We need volunteers to research basic information on plants to be sold and enter it into a sign template. Signs enable customers to quickly see what a plant will look like in bloom or maturity, and lower the risk of plant damage from removing and reinserting label sticks.
