Summary
October 12, 2021 RCMG Board of Directors Meeting The October Board Meeting was held on 10/12/2021 via Zoom. The next and last Board Meeting for 2021 is scheduled for Tuesday 11/09/21 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. These meetings are open to all volunteers.
Nominations for 2022 board members and committee chairs will be made at the October member meeting. An election for those nominees will be held at our Annual Meeting in November.
Committee Updates
Education Committee Update
A new 2022 Education Committee has been formed and will help Sue Ellen Campbell in her role as Committee Chair next year. This group will meet several times before the end of the year to plan for next year. We are excited to involve more of our membership who bring suggestions for topics, speakers and other educational opportunities.
Thanks to incoming Education Committee members: Mindy Johnson, Ann Wolfe, Lesley Perg, Linnea Tani, Simba Blood, Jerry Kluthe, Katherine Tane, Katie Swanson, Donna Andersen, and Sue Mason.
New Member Committee Update
The State was unwilling to cap our total number of intern applicants for 2022 to 15% of our membership, which would have been around 40 people. 66 individuals have applied to join RCMG next year and interviews will begin shortly.
Applicants are increasingly younger and have strong interests in areas of climate change, pollinator protection, and clean water. We still need expertise in horticulture, however. People look to us to diagnose their tomato problems too!
Communications Committee Update
We have a new Facebook Coordinator – Mindy Johnson –and another member – Kelly Greco – who is interested in exploring an RCMG Instagram account.

Motion to approve September meeting minutes.
Treasurer Update
Update on September monthly transactions & bank reconciliation. Work is being done to prepare a budget for 2022.
Program Coordinator Update
In anticipation of returning to in-person meetings next year, we have secured our room at the Roseville Skating Center for May through November of 2022. We are hoping to offer hybrid options as well, particularly in the dead of winter!

We have candidates for each of the open positions on the RCMG Board (Vice-Chair, Co-Chair of Education and Co-Chair of New Membership). These volunteers will be nominated at the October membership meeting (nominations may also come from the floor). Elections will be held at the November membership meeting.
